If I am already an existing RBC Rewards member, do I need to sign up to be part of Avion Rewards?

No, you will be automatically enrolled. You can simply sign into the Avion Rewards website or the Avion Rewards app on August 25, 2022 or thereafter to discover what Avion Rewards has to offer.

What is the difference between RBC Rewards points and Avion points?

There is no difference. We are renaming our point’s currency to reflect our new loyalty program name, Avion Rewards (formerly RBC Rewards) and your points will be called Avion points (formerly RBC Rewards points).

Will my RBC Rewards points expire under Avion Rewards?

No, your RBC Rewards points will not expire¹, but as of August 25, 2022, they will be renamed Avion points. Your points are yours to use as long as your account remains open and in good standing.

Will the way I earn points change?

No, the way you earn points does not change. You will continue to earn points on:

I. Eligible purchases made through your credit card accounts, banking rewards accounts, or eligible personal deposit accounts enrolled in the Value Program
II. Additional / bonus points earning opportunities and/or offers available from merchants, retailers or service providers from time to time

What will happen to the value of my RBC Rewards points when the program becomes Avion Rewards?

The value of your existing points will not change.

How can I participate in the Avion Rewards program if I have an eligible product that does not earn points on net purchases?

As of August 25, 2022, or soon thereafter, you will be able to access Avion Rewards by signing into the Avion Rewards website or Avion Rewards app.

Thereafter, you will be assigned an Avion Rewards core account where you will be able to earn Avion points on eligible offers, as well as discounts and cash back from merchants through our Shop page.

If your sole product is an eligible product that does not earn points on net purchases you will need to agree to the Avion Rewards T&Cs upon first sign-in.

If I have a WestJet RBC Mastercard, WestJet RBC World Elite Mastercard, RBC Cathay Pacific Visa Platinum or RBC British Airways Visa Infinite credit card, will I be able to participate in the Avion Rewards program?

If you have one of these credit card products plus an Avion Rewards eligible product, you will have access to the Avion Rewards program.

If you only have one of these credit cards and do not have an Avion Rewards eligible product, you will not have access to the Avion Rewards program. However, you will still be able to take advantage of all your existing credit card benefits and access Offers through the RBC Mobile app and RBC Online Banking.

Will I be eligible to participate in the Avion Rewards program as an RBC Bank US client or cardholder?

No. Avion Rewards excludes points earned with the RBC Bank Visa Signature Black, RBC Bank Visa Signature Black Plus and RBC Bank Visa Platinum credit cards. However, you will still be able to transfer the points earned with these RBC Bank credit cards to your Avion Rewards point’s account.

How does the change from RBC Rewards to Avion Rewards impact me as a Value Program participant?

There will be no change to the benefits you enjoy with any account(s) enrolled in the Value Program. You will still be able to earn points on debit purchases, and save on monthly account fees by holding eligible additional RBC products and completing certain activities from your enrolled account each month.

However, your loyalty program will now be renamed Avion Rewards (formerly RBC Rewards) and your points will now be called Avion points (RBC Rewards points).

Is Avion Rewards replacing the Value Program?

No, the Value Program is not being replaced. When you enroll your eligible account(s) into the Value Program, you can earn points on debit purchases, and save on monthly account fees by holding eligible additional RBC products and completing certain activities from your enrolled account each month.

How will I get access to offers from over 1,900 retailers that are part of the Avion Rewards program?

As of August 25, 2022, eligible Avion Rewards members will be able to sign into the Avion Rewards website and Avion Rewards app to start taking advantage of these offers.

Will I still be able to earn bonus points at Petro-Canada and Rexall?

Yes. If you have a product that is eligible to participate in the Petro Canada and/or Rexall programs and you have linked your cards, you will continue to receive all the benefits as you did before from our linked loyalty partners.

Will I still get access to my DoorDash DashPass?

Your DoorDash DashPass subscription is tied to your eligible RBC credit card. Eligible RBC credit card clients will continue to receive either their complimentary 3-month or 12-month DashPass subscription depending on your eligible RBC credit card.

Will I still be able to access Offers?

Yes, as an Avion Rewards member you will be able to access Offers through RBC Online Banking, the RBC Mobile app, the Avion Rewards app, and the Avion Rewards website.

If you do not have an Avion Rewards eligible product, you will have access to Offers through both RBC Mobile app and RBC Online Banking.

Will all RBC business clients be able to participate in the Avion Rewards program?

No, only clients with one of the following RBC business credit card products will be able to participate:

Will RBC Group Advantage clients have access to Avion Rewards?

Will RBC Visa Commercial cardholders be able access the Avion Rewards program?

You will continue to participate in the loyalty program as you do today.

What will happen to my RBC Rewards points if I have an RBC Commercial Avion Visa credit card?

Nothing. Everything will remain the same as it is today, except your loyalty program will now be renamed Avion Rewards and your points will be called Avion points.

If I have opted for Points Roll-Up on my RBC Business Avion or RBC Commercial Avion account, what will happen once the RBC Rewards program becomes the Avion Rewards program?

Nothing. The Points Roll-Up functionality will remain the same as it is today.

How will the change from RBC Rewards to Avion Rewards impact me as an existing RBC Avion Visa cardholder?

While we’re making some great new additions to your loyalty program, please rest assured your RBC Avion Visa card benefits will remain the same. With Avion Rewards, you will receive exclusive offers and savings on top of the existing benefits you currently enjoy.

Will I still have exclusive access to RBC Avion Visa credit card benefits like the Air Travel Redemption Schedule and The Avion Collection?

Yes. The Air Travel Redemption Schedule and the Avion Collection will remain exclusive to RBC Avion credit card holders.

The Avion Rewards ShopPlus Extension will be available through the Avion Rewards app on or after August 25, 2022. The Extension will be available on the Safari browser for iOS mobile users only. When enabled, the Extension allows you to shop directly in Safari on your iOS mobile device to get cash back deals and exclusive offers from qualifying merchants.

The following transaction categories are ineligible: cash advances, money orders, wire transfers, travelers’ cheques and gaming transactions (including betting, off-track betting, race track wagers, casino gaming chips, and lottery tickets).

Pay Back Purchases with Points – Ability to Redeem points for Transactions on your Net Purchase Credit Card This functionality is expected to launch and be available on or after August 25, 2022. RBC will publicly announce the official launch date. In this section, “you” means the Primary Applicant or the Co Applicant of a Net Purchase Personal Credit Card Account. General Rules: Pay Back Purchases with Points allows you to pay for your purchases made using your Eligible RBC Rewards Credit Card by going to the RBC Mobile banking app. You will be able to pay for or redeem your Points for transactions made 90 days prior to the redemption. You may redeem your Points to pay in full or in part for certain purchases completed, resulting in a payment directly towards your Credit Card Account balance. You will be asked to select the number of Points you wish to redeem, which must be greater than or equal to the Points equivalent of $1 or the full transaction value. The following transaction categories are ineligible: cash advances, money orders, wire transfers, travelers’ cheques and gaming transactions (including betting, off-track betting, race track wagers, casino gaming chips, and lottery tickets). If an otherwise eligible purchase participates in the RBC Installment Program, neither the purchase nor the amount billed each month will be eligible for Pay Back Purchases with Points. The Points for your redemption are taken from the RBC Rewards Account tied to the applicable Net Personal Credit Card Account. You understand that the number of Points required for each payment amount is subject to change at any time without notice to you. The number of Points required for a redemption may vary during promotional campaigns. Promotional campaign discounted rates are applied to the date and time of your redemption, not your transaction. You will be charged the full amount of your purchase on your statement, but you will receive a credit for a portion or all of the purchase amount depending on how many Points you redeemed. Your Pay Back Purchases with Points redemption is applied as a statement credit to your card account. Points will be deducted immediately from your Rewards Points Account. Statement credits as a result of a Pay Back Purchases with Points redemption do not constitute a payment towards the balance of your card account. You are responsible for payment of the amount due on your card account by the payment due date and must always make a separate payment of at least the minimum payment due in accordance with the Cardholder Agreement and billing statement.

For more information on how your payments are allocated and your payment obligations, you may consult the RBC Royal Bank credit card agreement applicable to your Credit Card Account. Also, a Pay Back Purchases with Points redemption cannot be converted into cash, a cheque or any other form. It takes two (2) to three (3) business days for the redemption to be credited to your Credit Card Account and to adjust your available credit. Redemptions are final and cannot be cancelled or reversed once submitted, even if the corresponding transaction is declined or cancelled or you make a return after the redemption has been completed. You can redeem Points for a particular transaction through Pay Back Purchases with Points multiple times up to 90 days from the transaction posted date to the maximum dollar value of the transaction.

Your RBC Rewards points (soon to be referred to as “Avion points”) don’t expire as long as your RBC Royal Bank credit card account remains open. However, your points will be forfeited twelve (12) months after: (i) you voluntarily close your RBC Royal Bank credit card account (“Account”), or (ii) RBC closes your Account for any reason other than for cause.
